Michel Polnareff album in Paris 1989

Created by Phil 8 years ago
I was with Matt when were playing together on an album for the French artist Michel Polnareff in Paris during the summer of 1989. There was me, Chuck Sabo on drums, Neil Taylor on guitar and Matt on keys .. quite a formidable band and, while together, also very capable of having a light ale or two after work. I have an enduring memory of walking with leaden feet and drunken senses back up the hill from La Pigalle to our hotel in Montmartre every night, which was in reality more like 2-3am, and Matt zig-zagging his way up the hill 20 metres behind us, bumping from parked car door over to a shop window and back again all the way up. Very, very funny times together AND the album, Kama Sutra, turned out to be Polnareff's biggest hit for years. What a great guy, great musician, kind man and social companion ... I'm glad to have spent time with him and sad he's no longer with us.
